2. Spider Crawl the Mall: This particular exercise requires core engagement, not to mention a significant amount of upper body strength. My favorite part is that you don't have to worry about the hoards of people that you want to pass ahead of you, because you're going to crawl your way through them before they even notice you! Get down in a plank position and begin moving one leg forward and to the outside while the opposite arm reaches forward (picture Spider Man crawling up a building). Be sure to alert people above of your presence below, lest a young lady accuses you of being a Peeping Tom.
3. Lunge Walk Your Way to Bargains: Be sure to engage those abs and focus on your alignment from hip to knee to toe. Keep the knee back in line with your heel as you lunge your way to your favorite department store. The longer the stride the more glute activation you'll notice, and it may just help you fit into that sequined number a little bit more easily!
4. Tricep Dip the Stairwells: The elevator is so 2010! Instead take the stairs, but remember to dip them down and up to battle "Bat Wing" development. Would you believe that the tricep is the number one body part that most women complain and want to change? Shocking i know, but after completing an unscientific survey of several fitness classes consistenting primarily of women, I learned that a chief reason for the complaint is that it's one area of the body that's difficult to conceal (picture strapless dress). My solution? Start at the bottom of the mall stairwell and dip 1 time. Proceed to stair 2 and dip 2 times, then to stair 3 for 3 repetitions, etc. etc. until you reach the top of the staircase. If you haven't had enough fun by that point, ladder back down (that means start with the highest number of repetitions and work your way back to the number 1 at the bottom step).
5. KickBox To the Front of the Line: You're in the store and people are standing casually in line texting on their smartphones or sighing over the long wait. Try something different. Begin shadow boxing (remember to engage that core!) and feel those shoulders, backs, and bellies shrink by the time you arrive at the register. I like to Jab/Punch, but you can choose to Hook/Block, whatever your little heart desires.
